i) One aspect about daily life that I hope will disappear altogether in the near future is the use of overhead pictures during classes. As a student, classes are a part of daily life and with a constant development of projectors, the usage of overhead pictures is becoming more old fashioned and belongs to a time before we could fully utilize projectors and power point slides. The use of overhead pictures is already at this point experiencing a diminishing in use which is why I think they will disappear in the near future.
ii) Another aspect of daily life that I think will decrease in usage or disappear altogether within the coming 6-50 years is the use of hard cash. We can already see this happening in some of the Swedish banks as they have removed the use of hard cash in order to avoid money laundering and robbery. More transactions are now done over Internet and/or by card and stores have implemented specific check outs where the only available payment is done by card. In some stores, the only way to pay is by card so there are many indications that we are going towards a hard cash free living.

It has actually been years since i actually saw someone using overhead pictures. So I will agree with you on that subject. I agree to some degree with you about hard cash disappearing, but I think there will always be some hard cash in the system.

SvaraRaderaFirst off, I couldn’t agree more about the overhead pictures. As a fellow student I find overhead pictures completely obsolete. Powerpoints are both easier to read, easier to adjust and more accessible for students, secretaries and teachers. Even though I still see some teachers using overhead pictures, it seems to be a decreasing way of teaching. The sooner we get rid of them, the better. =)
Secondly, I think that although cards may sometimes seem easier to manage, cash will always be needed. For large quantities of money and transactions between people and companies internet transactions is better, but in the everyday life I think we need hard cash, mainly due to the fact that a lot of people don't have faith in the cards and our current systems.
Cheers
I can’t wait for a life without hard cash. The thought about this is really interesting and I would like to take it even further by believing that cash and cards will be gone 50 years from now. We already pay some stuff right through our phone for example and I would like to see more of that or something similar, like a chip inside of my hand maybe =) Since new technology often has a main focus to make our life easier to live, a world where you have to carry as little as possible around with you when you are out and about would be idyllic.
