Snooping bosses

After reading the article I’m not sure where I stand in this question. Truly, it’s good to know if your employees are doing what they are supposed to do, but this problem could be solved by adding more small scaled dead-lines. This will create opportunities for the manager to monitor their employees without snooping, as long as they complete their tasks. But a person simply can’t work eight straight hours and thereby need a break now and then. They might use this break to send private e-mails or surf the Internet. Everyone should be allowed to have some kind of privacy at work and not be monitored all the time. I know I wouldn’t like to be monitored all the time because it sends signals that the company doesn’t trust you, making it less fun to work.

The increasing surveillance of the contemporary society is developing in a bad way. It seems that our freedom to do whatever we want is being questioned/at stake. If we can’t do whatever we want, then where is our freedom? Thanks to the development in technology it is easier for companies to follow every movement we make and the websites we visits. If this surveillance increases there will be no real free world, life will turn into something that looks like a prison. This is not what I want. Surveillance should be used in acceptable levels where you still feel that you’re allowed to do whatever you want, not to follow your every move. Even though security is important it should never attack a person’s integrity. Security has gone too far when someone’s integrity is threatened. What you think and believe is not important when it comes to security.
